Question
How do you make window screens?

You can make a screen for a window with either a wood frame, vinyl or an aluminum frame. First you will need to measure the height and width of an open window frame. Most aluminum and vinyl frames have a channel for the screen to fit into, so you will need the actual corner to corner dimension inside this channel, minus 4mm or 5mm, about 1/6 in. near 3/16 in. short. Older windows with wooden frames may be trickier, and the corners won't always be square. Ideally, you may be able to use the original screen to obtain dimensions for your new one.
If you are going to make the corners "mitred" at (45°) you will need to cut the "full" size to fit (corner inserts go inside the hollow aluminum frame and are not visible).
Saw the aluminum frame pieces with a hacksaw at the length you measured. If this is the mitred kind, you may just mark 45° using a protractor (or use a "mitre box" or other mitering saw equipment).
Use a metal file to remove any rough edges left when sawing.
Lay the screening material straight on the frame (you need about 1 inch or 3 cm or more oversize around all four sides).
Pull the screening slightly tight, first in the length and then in the width -- being careful not get a warp in the frame or "waves" in the screening material.
Press aluminum wire screening material into the slots (channels) using the convex end of the spline roller. You can use short pieces of spline to hold (retain) the screen in place until the whole screen can be rolled in.
Cut the unnecessary screening carefully away with a sharp utility knife.
Turn the window screen for the spline to be to the inside. Position the window for the spring clips upward to fit into the top window slot. Lower the screen frame so that it will be held in place by the lower (retaining) edge, clip or slot.
Home Depot does sell rolls of screening in their stores.

There are two options that you will have either replacing the cartridge or the spout. It will probably be cheaper to just replace the cartridge.

Question
How to install Unison 2-in-1 underlayment properly?
It seems instructions are not simple. Why cant you roll out the way it is packaged? You have to unroll it backwards with the tape to the wall and not the 3 in. film, so then the next layer is the same. You cant just roll it out, it is all backwards and is just about impossible to have the layers straight with themselves.you need 10 hands to do this the way the instructions show. This is not easy. Am i doing this wrong?

If the underlayment is rolled out the way it is packaged it would have a tendency to roll back up as you went the length of your room (which would really be frustrating). If you do it as instructed, the curve of the roll will push against the floor and will not roll back up, this method is much easier to work with. For the first roll, put the side with the overlap flap against the wall and the adhesive strip furthest from the wall. The second row overlap flap will attach to the adhesive strip of the first row. Push the two foam edges close together, but make sure you do not overlap the foam, just have them laying next to each other. Flush to1/8” apart is fine. Pull the adhesive strip and slowly push the overlap film onto the expose adhesive making sure there is a firm connection. Follow these steps for each row thereafter.
