Question
What paint colur matches mustard yellow tile
I have yellow tile halfway up my wall in my bathroom. I cannot afford to replace the tile. Currently there is wall paper on the upper wall. What colour would you suggest to match this type of tile. It is a lighter yellow tile with gold specks in it. Also what colour of flooring should i choose. Thanks.

This is a question based on preference; unfortunately there is no right answer. You could choose from earthy or autumn colours, such as pumpkin or rust. Also, consider a shade of blue which compliments yellow/mustard. Although, I would advise you to visit a Home Depot and take a look at the variety of paint colour samples offered. Bring a picture of the tile to match the appropriate colours, I’m sure a Home Depot associate would be happy to help as well.

Question
What is the proper way to hang a group of pictures on a wall?
After painting our living room wall, I didn't want to hang the pictures back up so that they look like they were just thrown on it, like they did before. They've just been sitting on the floor waiting for me to put them back up. Any suggestions?

For best results, use a coat of primer before beginning to paint. Primer is a specially formulated product designed to give the finish coat a uniform appearance, increase the finish coat coverage, block stains and more. Read all about it in our project titled ‘Priming is Essential’. Check out project ‘Removing Stains’ for more information. I have attached a link below. Good luck.

Unfortunately, there is no correct answer - this is based on your preference. Although, I would recommend you leave the ceiling white. The other three walls could be a light mustard/beige to bring the purple and brickwall together. Consider using paint texture to add more tones and highlights – find a link below to direct you to a Faux Venetian Plaster Project for ideas. If you are still unsure make sure to visit a Home Depot store near you and take a look at the variety of paint colour samples offered. Bring a picture of all the colours you need to match with, I’m sure a Home Depot associate would be happy to help as well.

Very simply follow the following steps for painting pine cupboards:
1. Remove the hardware and doors and use painters tape along the wall
2. Sand the pine cabinets very lightly with fine-grit sand paper using long strokes
3. Apply wood filler to holes are deep scratches, if required
4. Apply a coat of primer , apply 2 coats of paint in a fluid up-and-down motion

Question
How would you freshen up or update an oak stair case going from 2nd fl. to main, & then main to basement?
The treads are medium worn on main floor, and and more worn into the basement due to more traffic by people and pets. There are few dents or gauges but they look dirty (especially basement stairs) even after they are cleaned. The shiny finish is fairly worn off on the treads. Handrails and posts are pretty good. I would like to do it myself. Both sets of stairs are curved. The basement stairs are open to the main floor.

Question
Is there such thing as an salmon-pink, grey, and white colour scheme?
If so, when was this trend popular. (It's currently present in my outdated bathroom)
I'm doing a project for school, and I have to pick two colour scheme of which I am drawn towards, and dislike.
Does this colour scheme even work?

Question
i need a dramatic paint color to complement honey oak cabintes and dark green tile backsplash
the ceilings are 18 feet high. the cabinets are too many to change the honey oak color. the walls are currently light cream and very boring. the attached/adjoining living room has black wrought iron stair rails, knobs/hinges, and the fireplace is also black metal. There are a lot of walls, nooks etc to paint, so more than one color would be nice. I'm stumped with the yellow oak, dark green tiles, and black iron, as to what to do to bring it all together. The only possible change is the green tile black spash if necessary. Floors are honey oak colored hardwood in living area, cream colored tiles around fire place(inclulding honey oak mantel), and the kitchen (22x24 with large island) has neutral cream colored 18" x 36" tile looking linoleum.(new).
