Please see below for how much concrete a bag will make. Normal Portland Cement is a finely ground powder which is mixed with sand, stone, and water to produce Concrete. For most small jobs* around the home the following proportions (by volume) are recommended: 1 part Portland cement 2 1/2 parts concrete sand 2 1/2 parts 3/4” (19mm) stone 2 to 3 parts water [4 1/2 - 5 gallons (20-23 litres) per bag of cement] The key to quality concrete is the proportion of cement to water used. For this reason, use only as much water as is required to make the mix workable. Any excess water will lower the durability and strength of the hardened concrete. Using these proportions, one bag of cement will produce about 3 1/2 cubic feet (0.1 m3) of concrete mix.

The following is the ratio to use:
• Mix with various aggregates and water to produce a concrete mixture. • Mix proportions by weight: an average mix • - 10 kg Portland Cement • - 20 kg Sand • - 30 kg KING ½" Gravel
The end result will vary from user to user. This depends on the quality of sand and stone + the contractor to measure properly + curing + water used. These are all variables that can make the results different for everyone.
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure of your question but I am thinking you are asking about the Yield of the bag. If that is so, the YIELD = Using proportions suggested, one 40 kg (88lb) bag of cement will produce about 3 1/2 cubic feet (0.1 m³) of concrete mix approximately.
Hope this helps.

Hi there,
Thank you for asking this questions, as I am sure others are also wondering how to calculate how many bags you need to do a job. Here is the formula to calculate the slap size:
Slab Calculator: Length (m) __ x Width (m) __ x Depth (cm) = ___ ÷ 100 = cubic meters ÷ 0.014 =___ # of 30kg bags required.
Slab Calculator: Length (ft) __ x Width (ft) __ x Depth (in) =___ ÷ 12 = cubic feet ___ x 2 = # of 30kg bags required ___
For the first ramp you would need about 530 bags.
For the second ramp you would need about 68 bags.
Hope this helps.

Question
to atain a 4000 psi mixture what is the ratios to follow of portland cement
Suggesting a mix ratio depends on many factors: Quality of sand, quality of the stone and the size, the person performing the mixing, amount of water used etc….. Below is only a suggestion for a mix. The strength determined is unknown – based on the various factors some are listed above. When someone asks the mix ratio a little light goes off and says they will make a mistake and blame someone. There is no way of determining after the fact if a problem occurred what it was. Some think adding extra Portland to get higher strengths helps where actually it doesn’t help if too much is added. To much water is also an issue. One is better off buying premixed SAKRETE concrete mix or KING Crack resistant concrete. Both in the 30kg bags: 1 part Portland cement 2 1/2 parts concrete sand 2 1/2 parts 3/4” (19mm) stone 2 to 3 parts water [4 1/2 - 5 gallons (20-23 liters) per bag of cement] The key to quality concrete is the proportion of cement to water used. For this reason, use only as much water as is required to make the mix workable. Any excess water will lower the durability and strength of the hardened concrete. Curing: Concrete develops strength by a chemical process combining cement and water, called hydration. After placing and finishing the concrete should be protected from drying out or freezing. Hydration continues until all cement particles react with water or until cold temperatures slow or stop the chemical reaction. Curing should take place for a period of 7 days and can be achieved using polyethylene (plastic) sheeting, spray-on curing compounds or complete water saturation. TECHNICAL DATA N/A PAINTING Allow 28 days before applying paint. YIELD Using proportions suggested, one 40 kg (88lb) bag of cement will produce about 3 1/2 cubic feet (0.1 m³) of concrete mix approximately.
