The wood is a wonderful mix, with many highlights in it. Although it is difficult to say "dark" or "light" because it is subjective, I found in my floor about 10% was really dark, about 50% was light, and the rest was beautifully mixed with great highlights in the wood grain itself. When peiced together, it is stunning.

Hi Troypark,
No there is not a great deal of red hue to the wood it is more brown, depending on the dye lot. There isn't a set percentage of dark, medium and light wood as this being natural wood the percentages will change. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This floor is to be installed as a floating floor but if you choose to nail it down it is recommended to use a finishing nailer and either finish or brad nails. I hope this helps.
