The max cut width is 13 inches straight at 0 or 90 degrees. This about the same as other saws. Our Milwaukee is 14 inches. Any more than that and you have move the shoulders on other models and you should never do that.

We have another agency that certifies our equipment. They have the same standards as CSA and we work with them on both sides of the boarder. Because we don't use CSA per se, we cannot put their logos on our products. Our products are safe for use and certified as such in Canada however.

Question
Re: Ridgid Miter Saw Utility Vehicle and Ridgid 12" Sliding Miter SawSliding
I'm hoping you can help me. On page seven of the MSUV operators manual it says:

"NOTE: Four additional 1-1/2 in. bolts have been provided for use when securing a sliding miter saw to the mounting brackets."

It appears that it is possible (I have not removed the saw from the box yet) to use two of the extra bolts on the rear mounting holes on the saw but not the front. Is it absolutely necessary to use these extra bolts?

Your help in this matter is very much appreciated. I hope I have been clear. If not I may have to go back to the store to show them exactly what I mean.

Thanks,

Richard

You use the longer bolts to secure the saw to the back of the clamps, and the short bolts on the front on the clamp so the base will swing its full capacity. If the bolts do catch at the front, just loosen the nuts off a trun or two. The saw will still be held fine.
