Questions & Answers for RIDGID RIDGID 10 In. Portable Table Saw with Stand

Question
What shopvac connection will fit?
I'm reading reviews stating a 2.5" shop vac fits, but I also read someone say it's a 2" connection. I'm confused, do both 2" and 2.5" work? 2.5 is a standard size so I'm assuming its a 2.5" ?

Not sure why the one answer says this saw is a piece of junk?!? Many many excellent reviews out there. Anyway, yes, both sizes work. One fits over the connection, one fits on the inside.

This will take the 2 inch classifacation of hose. 2 in ID and 2.5 OD. It is a friction fit as well. The Ridgid hoses will attach right on for example.

Yes, but you may have to ask a sales associate to order one for you. I have not seen it available online, but I was able to find one in my local store.

Yes, they can order the part for you. Be sure to tell the associate which model number your saw is. There are two models, the TS 2400 and the TS2410.

This saw is approved for safe use in Canada. We use an agency that has the same standards as CSA. They test all our tools coming into Canada. We do this so that we can use one agancy to all our tools testing for saftey in both the US and Canada.

If you re wired the motor , yes. But really designed for 120/ 15 amp circuit. Good to put it on a 20 amp for start up. But the saw is a soft start, so not as much power right at start up

CSA approval / certification is a completely voluntary process. There is absolutely no legal requirement for anything to be CSA approved for retail sale in Canada. Most manufacturers go through the process as a cost of doing business - it shows that their products meet the minimum safety requirements, but again, it is up to the manufacturer as to whether they participate. The CSA is kind of like the Better Business Bureau - someone to consult or complain to. It looks better if there has been approval if product recalls become necessary.

I have used a 3/4" dado set, but in this case, I tend to remove the blade stabilizer so that the nut has sufficient purchase on the spindle.

The widest it will go is 3/4 of an inch as the shaft or arbour is a not quite as long as a large table saw.

My manual says 15 amp only. You can get a rough idea of HP from there. I'd guess just under 2 HP

2 HP under load at the blade. In other words 2 hp when cutting wood. Other saws claim more HP but that is not under load. The motor is a 15 amp motor, and 1 hp equals 6.5 amps so, 6.5 plus 6.5 equal 13 amps which puts in the 2 HP range along with how the saw is geared up at the blade.
