There is a yellow tab on the side of the float. If you push this in it will allow the float to move up or down to adjust to the height that you require.

No there are no additional accessories required. The float is built into this product. If this is a straight replacement of the fill valve then this is all you will need.

At the top of the fill valve there is a float which has a yellow tab on the side. if you push in this yellow tab it will allow you to move the float up and down. This will determine how much water you require for your tank.

Question
Purpose of the yellow thing at the bottom?
Trying to adjust the level of the float higher to allow more water into the tank, and notice that there are 2 yellow plastic things:
1 at the top near the float, and assume this is the yellow that we are to push to adjust the float (from previous Q&A). I can not. So please explain further.
2, a yellow ring near the bottom of the tank, which slides up and down. Can you please explain what this does?
Next question, are there instructions we can download?
Thanks in advance

Yes there are 2 yellow portions on this fill valve. I will mention the bottom ring first. This ring pops out or down and then allows you to adjust the actual height of the fill valves to match the height of the one being replaced. The the ring locks back into place to secure the fill valve. The yellow porting at the top allows more water to fill the tank or can be referrred to as the float. When you push this yellow tab in, it allows the float portion to move up and down to allow more water into the tank.

I hope these answers help you in your installation. Please let us know if there is anything else you require. Our customer service line is 1-800-465-6130.

The instructions cannot be downloaded, however we have just made some modifications to our instructions to make soem of the points mentioned easier.

If you would like these emailed please advise us and we can send them out.

Thank you.

Question
why does this valve squeal like a very loud pig?
Apparently air is leaking in somewhere. After a while the valve is submerged as water continues to fill the tank.

It appears that there is a problem with the diaphram that is inside this unit and is a faulty unit and should be returned and replaced.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Question
Valve leaks intermittently for no apparent reason causing the toilet to emit a noticeable running water sound. Is there an adjustment I've missed?
This unit was easy to install, but difficult to adjust. I have tried a number of times to stop the leaking water and the accompanying noise, but without success. Is this the internal gasket problem that was cited in an earlier answer -- meaning that I'll have to go and get another valve to replace this one -- or is it something I can fix?

There is a yellow tab near the top of the fill valve which allows you to adjust the water level which should alleviate this.

Question
How do I set the float height?
In the instructions, it says to set the top of the arm on which the float moves 1" above the overflow pipe but, on the packaging, it shows the same location on the arm well below the overflow pipe - which is correct?
Thanks.

Pull down on the yellow ring near the bottom of the fill valve. This will unlock the height of the fill valve. This will allow you to adjust the fill valve to your desired height and be sure to put the yellow locking nut back into position as this secures and locks this height in place.

Question
How can I locate and stop dripping water.
The istallation of the M5350 was very easy, however I can hear water dripping. Is the M5350 defective (diaphram), or is there and adjustment. I do not see any water dripping, and do not hear water 'running'. The dripping sounds like it is coming from inside the M5350

There are 2 adjustments. One was when you removed your old fill valve or ballcock and then adjusted your new M5350 to the required height which would be 1" above the overflow tube. This adjusts the height of the fill valve and has a lock nut that locks the unit in place. The other adjustment can be found on the side of the float on the fill valve. There is a yellow tab on the side which adjusts the amount of water in the tank. This can be moved up or down in order to reach the optimal level for your toilet. Please be certain that you have the overflow pipe coming off of the fill valve and into the overflow tube.

What am I doing wrong
I’ve been trying to adjust the M5350 for 2 days. I have the float arm 1 inch above the overflow pipe. I have made numerous adjustments to the float and still the valve leaks. It ll turns on and off.
