Question
Required to cover the whole floor?
The space in the bathroom where people stand is only 6'x4', but there is about 40 ft² of floor space, would it work to have 1 4x4 electric heating mat? Would the tile be uneven without mat across the entire floor?

The Tempzone under tile is 1/8" thick so this will not add any level to your floor but be aware that the system only radiates a few inches on each side and if you have a warm tile next to a cold tile, you will feel the difference.

for 45 sft you could use the 28-15b-120 mat, that is 28'2" long by 18inches wide.
It draws 5.28 amps and you can use the mat under tile, vinyl, hardwood or any floor that would need cement or thinset.
