answer 1
The control signal is a radio frequency (RF) type signal, which can penetrate through common building materials such as wood siding, vinyl siding, drywall, etc. It will not go through metal, thick masonry (concrete or concrete block) or stucco with a metal mesh inside, or plaster with a metal mesh inside, or very thick wood. Be sure to fish the yellow antenna wire through a hole in the bottom of the junction box so that the antenna is extended so that it can better receive the RF signal.
