Yes you can use more than one controller, or more than one receiver. All our units work together if the security code switches match each other.

The control signal is a radio frequency (RF) type signal, which can penetrate through common building materials such as wood siding, vinyl siding, drywall, etc. It will not go through metal, thick masonry (concrete or concrete block) or stucco with a metal mesh inside, or plaster with a metal mesh inside, or very thick wood. Be sure to fish the yellow antenna wire through a hole in the bottom of the junction box so that the antenna is extended so that it can better receive the RF signal.

Question
will this item work in a 3-way circuit or just a single pole circuit? I.E., one light, two switches.

The SL-6017-WH switch that comes in the WC-6021 set would need to be installed in place of a single pole switch, not in a 3-way circuit. The WC-6023-WH (Store SKU #: 1000511843) switch set is required for this situation. This set includes the remote control and two switches which are designed to replace two standard 3 way switches.
