Questions & Answers for Weber Weber Q 220 Portable Gas Barbecue

Question
Is there any problem connecting the Q220 to a 5 lb or 11 lb propane tank? How do the dimensions of the 5 or 10 compare to the 20 lb?

They have adapter hoses that you can buy. I bought a cheaper version of the hose and had problems heating up the bbq. I got the weber version after I returned the cheaper one and all problems went away. The weber version is like 40 buck though which I find ridiculous.

no either of those two tanks will work with the Q series, however you will need to purchase an adapter hose. The grillpro 80004 is available at HD online or in stores. Dimensionally, the 10lb and 5lb are much smaller than a standard 20lb, which helps with portability.

The Q220 comes ready to cook, with about 20 minutes of assembly required. You will need a disposable propane tank, and you're ready to go. You can also purchase a propane adapter hose, and that will allow you to hook it up to a 20lb refillable cylinder.

Yes, there is a shipping charge if you cannot find this item in a store. If you would like to see an estimated shipping cost you can click on add to cart, then you will see a shipping estimator on the left, put your postal code in and you will have an estimate. The return policy for homedepot.ca can be seen at http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/.... I hope this helps.

How well does the Weber Q220 work using a portable propane tank?

it's designed to work with a disposable tank, so it works just as well as if it were connected to a full size tank. Tank size is irrelevant from a performance standpoint, the regulator built into the bbq controls fuel, not the tank.

however, the little disposable tanks do tend to run out more quickly than a full size, so you can always get the adapter hose, either in GrillPro (80004) or Weber (6501)

the barbecue is designed for use with disposable cylinders, and is certified to North American standards. Check with the gas authority in the country of your destination as to the availability of the correct cylinders.
