Pergo Prestige - Elite Creamy Butternut is a 10mm plank (underlayment attached). The locking mechanism on the Elite Creamy Butternut is different from the Harvest Butternut.

PERGO flooring can be used in combination with many types of in-floor heating. The heating system can be cast in a concrete floor or in a thin layer of filler on the surface of a concrete sub floor. It can also be installed under a wood sub floor or installed on the surface of the sub floor as electrical matting. Please follow these recommendations:

1. Follow the instructions from the supplier of the floor heating system.
2. Concrete sub floors must be installed and cured with no heat transfer for a minimum of 60 days.
3. The heating system must be in operation for at least two weeks before installation. The system may be turned off or set to a suitable installation temperature (65 to 72°F).
4. The flooring surface temperature that is the surface of the sub floor or the heat radiating from electric heating mats should not exceed 84°F (29°C).

For more detailed information, please visit www.pergo.com. Select the “Installation and Warranty”, then select “The Installation Essentials Guide for Laminate Flooring”. Section 15 addresses radiant heating.

Question
Can the soundproofing rating for installation on a concrete floor be increased?
Hi, I really like this product (Pergo Prestige Elite Creamy Butternut) and would like to install it on a concrete floor in an apartment. However, my condo guidelines specify soundproofing of IIC 63 or better. Is there any approved way to increase this upon installation to meet 63 or better, through use of a specific installation technique or use of materials in addition to the Prestige Laminate with attached underlayment? Or, do you have a similar offering or product line without underlayment? Thanks.

Previous answer was as follows:
Elite Bordeaux Butternut is not manufactured without the pre-attached underlayment.
If you have purchased a product with the pre-attached foam underlayment additional foam underlayment is not necessary. Adding extra sound barrier underlayment might create excess cushioning and potentially cause the floor to separate.
Below are the ratings for the pre-attached sound barrier on the laminate floor:
The sound rating, (Sound Transmission Class, STC) is 52.
The impact rating (Impact Insulation Class, IIC) is 59.

One possibility is to add another subfloor over the concrete to increase the sound rating, consult a general contactor for details on subfllor installation.
