this would work great in a kitchen, since it mounts on the electrical outlet, off the floor, and you won't have to worry about tripping over the heater when you are working in the kitchen!

Yes, you may put it in the kitchen. The unit gets wall mounted over a standard electrical faceplate that has 2 outlets.

Yes it can run on 110 volts. On "low" the heater runs at 1000W and on "high" 1500W.

there is a short, perhaps 6") cord which plugs into the outlet, but it does install directly over the electrical outlet with a mounting bracket, which is included

The cord is roughly 8 inches and gets hidden behind the unit once it's mounted over an electrical outlet using the wall mount which is included with the unit.

my rangehood vent has a lowest setting noise of 1.5 sones. This heater I own is even quieter. might be hard to find anyone with a sound meter in their tool box.

If you would like to run the heater constantly you would have to turn the temperature knob all the way clockwise so it's at maximun high.
On the lower setting the unit will turn off due to "ThermaFlo" mode and when running on the higher setting it will also turn off, but after a longer period of time.
