Actually they do rate the decibels on this particular generator.I'm buying this generator for camping purposes and I needed to know how loud this generator is so I contacted Homelite directly and they responded with the following information..."rated at 74 dbl. at 70 ft."

We do not rate decibles on a generator because it cycles or revs up and down upon the load drawn from it. They are loud.

IT is recommended that when hooking up to a building or transfer switch that a qualified licensed electrician do the work. This person can do the connection under all codes as well. That person will know how to disconnect the neutral.
