The tread and riser are both secured to the existing tread with construction adhesive and screws in predrilled holes. The screws can be secured on the tread where the riser overlaps the tread. The riser will hide the screws.

Question
Do they make the tread and riser any bigger?
After cutting off the nosing on the existing stair i still have 9 3/4 inches left and the tread is too short, do they come in a bigger width or is there anything i can do.

The false treads are an engineered product which has a Red Oak Veneer on the top, solid Rad Oak bullnose and a solid plywood core to ensure maximum stability in the product.

All wood products have a life span. Some will last longer than others. How you protect them from the every day use and environmental elements is very important.
Solid treads can warp and or crack over a period of time where an engineered tread is less likely to do this. Our treads also have a flake veneer which can be sanded more than once similar to a solid tread.

How do these work with a corner stair?
See attached image. Our stairs turn at the top and I believe that there are 2 corner stairs. Is it possible to put on these faux stairs in my house?

These treads are designed for straight staircases... unfortunately we do not have angular stair treads that would serve your purpose.

All but 2 stores in the Vancouver area will carry this product. The most central store to you I think would be @ 900 Terminal Ave. If that is not close to you, you could go into any Home Depot and request the closet store with inventory of sku 547179 and 547163.

How is the top stair finished?
How is the top stair finished? We have laminate flooring on the stairs and main floor. how is it finished when it meets the laminate at the top?
Also, I want to take the laminate off of the stairs, can this product be put over just the rough steps? The do it yourself page said it must be put on top of existing stairs.

Thank you for your questions regarding our false tread product and the installation. You can leave the top edge of your laminate flooring on the main level as is or you can finish the edge with a 5/16” nosing which would be a transition moulding between your stairs and your flooring.
Our false tread product is designed to be placed over existing stairs. As long as the existing rough steps are level, the false treads should be fine to be applied over top.
