The 52 In. Renwick transitional flushmount ceiling fan features an oil brushed bronze finish. It comes with a bowl style light kit with aged champagne glass and uses 3 x 40W candelabra base bulbs. This fan is SCC compliant with a 190W limiter. The powerful 172 x 14mm motor has a multi-capacitor for quiet and efficient operation.

Yes, you would have to detach the light kit from the switch cap and use the supplied plug.

Yes, this ceiling fan can be installed without the light kit but you will need to purchase a switch housing cover. To order a switch housing cover please phone 877-902-5588. I hope this helps.

The specs say it is flushmount but is there a rod that can be installed so that the fan hangs down 4-5 feet in to the room?

Yes, a remote control comes with this fan and you can operate the fan with or without the light.

The fan upon purchased should come with a remote and receiver. The fan needs the light and it cannot be operated alone. The light should be installed because there isn't a cap to cover the wires only. However if you are saying to let the fan run with the light turned off, yes you can do this as well. Hope this helps.

how do we get a replacement glass in a different colour?
We want to try and match the glass to other fixtures in the same area which are whiter in colour like the same fan style in a nickel finish. See attached images

You can call the customer service at 877-902-5588 to order the frosted white glass from the Renwick-BN, but there will be a charge for this.
