Not when applied at recommended bag setting on a Scott's broadcast spreader.( Spills should be raked and flushed with water.) Fill on driveway where fertilzier easily swept up. Trickier with hand held spreader; must only use quantity of fertizlier for the coverage area i.e weed prevent covers 1000 square feet: if the area to be treated is 333 square feet- only 1/3 of the bag should be applied evenly. Weed prevent has 10% nitrogen that will begin greening up the grass. Lawn should be wet or there should be rain/ irrigation within 2 days of application. The corn glutten coats the weed seeds in the lawn lessening germination and less hand weeding will be necessary later. A traditional lawn food fertilizer should be applied later. thanks

No, the corn gluten suppresses all seed germination for a period of 6-8 weeks. Apply weed prevent by beginning of April and then can topdress/ overseed May 24 weekend.
