Yes, heat output is minimal. I have three installed in enclosed ceiling lights and they work fine.

Yes you can use these in an enclosed fixture. The only issue is you may shorten the life of the light bulb by 15 - 20%.

It is not recommended for outdoor use as if it gets wet, the water could affect the electrical components.

The CFL takes a long time to brighten up in cold weather (outdoor in covered area). Does the LED bulb have the same problem?

No LEDs work better in the cold and will light up instantly.

This will work in the fixture; however it is not a Tri-light and will only light up at one level at the brightness of a 60W light bulb (800 lumens)
