does this come in brushed nickel ?? I can find one in brushed nickel but it does not have the hot and cold water valve ... I need that as well

The valve is not included with the slde bar in chrome or brushed nickel. It is a separate purchase it does come in brushed nickel Home Depot's Item number is 1000668775.

Will this control temperature. I keep getting scalded in the shower. Its for an apartment and do not want to have to replace valve inside wall
I have separate hot and cold faucets.Can I open up shower wall and install single faucet on water line between my double faucets and shower head?

The valve is sold separately. The valve in this picture is a pressure balance valve so it will prevent scalding. You would have to cut out the old two handle valve and install a single valve. This would leave a larger opening than this valve plate would cover. You would have to buy a separate plate desinged to cover that opening.
