Minimum amount of light is stopped by this film. It doesn't effect growing plants. It rejects 99% of UV and reduces glare to some extent. For more information check the manufacturer website at : http://www.gilafilms.com/en/Residential-Window-Film.aspx If you cannot find the answer you are looking for there, you can contact the company. I did contact them for clarification and some questions that I couldn't find the answer on their site and found their reps to be very helpful.

Yes it does. That's the main reason for using it. I can cut cooling bills up to 50%. It also cuts heating bills in winter by reflecting heat back into the room, allowing much less heat to escape by the windows. For more information and how to video etc check the manufacturer website at : http://www.gilafilms.com/en/Residential-Window-Film.aspx

Question
Can you tell that it is on the window?
Will it be visible to others thereby taking away from the look of the window? I just spent alot of money on high grade windows and don't want to add this (even though it seems like a great product) if it is going make the windows and house look cheap?

It is visible inside and outside but very little. There is a bluish tint on the window, however very light. It takes about 10 days to cure the product once applied and during that time it will appear a bit hazy. Also the windows will never be as clear as windows that are tinted at a factory. For more information and how to video etc check the manufacturer website at : http://www.gilafilms.com/en/Residential-Window-Film.aspx

Hi Lizzy,
The only difference in your windows that is visible is the tint; as long as it is installed correctly without any air bubbles.

Hi Lizzy,
Unfortunately this product is not reusable, it can be easily removed but not put back up. This window film contains a low-E coating that helps retain the winter heat. I hope this helps.
