I can only speak for the hanging chain version of the Snoc light--as far as I know it only comes in black; however, because of the design of its construction it would be no problem at all to paint it and reassemble. It's a very nice light!

Can you just plug this into an outdoor outlet or does it require some wiring? I want to install hangning in a gazebo?

You could do a proper splice to the provided wiring and plug into an outdoor outlet; however, special attention would have to be paid to maintaining proper grounding. As is the unit is designed to be installed into an octagon electrical box with proper wiring.

Can anybody recommend a hanging lantern product that is plug-in only from Home Depot? I can't seem to find one.
