a BIG reason to have a central vac is to remove dust and allergens from the home. Venting it to an interior space is placing the fine dust and allergens into that space. If you are not concerned about air quality in your garage you could vent it there. If your garage it attached the recommendation would be to vent it outside.

How high from the ground should I install this unit.
I haven't bought the vacuum yet, I am still in the construction stage. I need to know how high I should instaall addtional support to my wall before drywall for this unit. Thanx

This unit should be installed a minimum of 18" above the floor, it is important that as long as you can empty the debris bucket then you are fine. I hope this helps.

Is an electrical outlet required right beside the hose outlet for the beater bar to work or is the power needed for the vacuum beater bar in the hose connection?

The DLXKIT800 requires an outlet to be placed within 6ft of the central vacuum inlet to be used with the beater bar. Hope this helps.

Will this replace a Beam unit?
Our Beam central vac finally went kaput... all the attachments are fine, just the motor on the vac that gave out. Will this unit work if we take out the old vac and replace it with this one? Can we continue to use old attachments or are these brand specific?
