The thermostat is very important, it has a sensor that is installed in the floor for better control of the floor. Also thermostat has a built in GFCI (ground fault circuit interuptor) that will cut the circuit if there is a problem with heating floor. For warranty issues the thermostat is very important.
Hope this help.

No. The True Comfort heating system cannot be installed without a thermostat. We recommend that you always connect (hard wire) your True Comfort in-floor heating system to a True Comfort thermostat. Our thermostats are designed to properly read the frequency emitted by the floor probe to ensure the efficient functioning of your in-floor heating system (helping to ensure your comfort). Other non-compatible thermostats may jeopardize the actual temperature readings of you’re the True Comfort in-floor heating system.

Question
What should I do with the existing forced air vent?
I want to install in a main bathroom and also a connected powder room. Both rooms have forced air vents for heating and air conditioning. Should I block the air vents? Should they only be blocked in winter when I need heat; but opened in summer when I want the AC?

Our products are not compatible with natural hardwood, however, if installed on top of a concrete subfloor, the laminate floors and engineered wood floors would be compatible using a 4 inch spacing. For further assistance, feel free to contact True Comfort Customer Service.

For 240 volts there are 2 cables PS2403069 that covers 19 sq.ft. and PS2403147 that covers 39 sq.ft. these are the closest cables for your size. the best one would be PS1203122 that covers 33 sq.ft. but it needs a 120 volt feed. If you need to go 120 volt, should have an electrician bring a 120 volt feed to thermostat. Can not change that 240 volts to 120 volts, problable it is installed in series with other baseboard.
Hope I have anwsered your questions.
