It does not need to vent outside. You will need a recirculationg charcoal filter kit (JX81D) for non-vented exhaust.

During regular microwave cooking, the oven uses microwave energy to cook by a set time or weight, or automatically by sensor. Microwave energy is distributed evenly throughout the oven for thorough, fast cooking of food. During convection baking or roasting, a heating element is used to raise the temperature of the air inside the oven; hence any oven temperature (from 225 degrees F to 450 degrees F may be programmed.
