Questions & Answers for Energy Film Energy Film 121.9 X 213.3

Question
More specifications, please
the ad for Energy film Model: 01-0119 gives minimal information about how to use the product. there does not seem to even be a brand name with a link to a manufaturers' [?] site that would explain how it is used, and why it is worth buying.
This site seems weak on explaining new products.

You're right the information is limited on this product. That's why Home Depot requests feedback. If you're still in need of window film, check out my review. It's easy to install and care for, can be used permanently or on a seasonal basis.

Hi PAlan
The brand name for this window film is Energy Film. Energy Film is made of a spectrally selective material that blocks 70% of thermal solar energy in summer and reduces heat loss through windows in winter. It blocks 97% of UV light while still allowing 77% of natural light into the room. Energy film also has excellent visual clarity. To see detailed instructions on how to apply please visit http://energy-film.com/images//engl... and to see the performance data for the film please visit http://www.energy-film.com/images/e.... I hope this helps.

Question
Is this product suitable for dual pane windows
I notice on the specs it indicates this product is suitable for single pane windows. Does that mean it is not suitable for dual pane windows? I am a store owner, that needs a clear product for south facing windows. We need natural light for proper color selection, however our products are being damaged in the UV light in our display windows therefore we are really looking for a inexpensive, clear UV reducing window treatment that is suitable for our leased building.

No, this product doesn't have to be installed on the exterior of the window for dual pane windows. It is however suggested to double check with the window manufacturer to see if it is OK. I hope this helps.

Question
What is meant by single pane windows?
It says product is suitable for single pane windows. I live in an apartment that has windows that slide open right to left. One window slides open and then behind it an additional window that slides open. Can I use Energy Film on these windows?

If you can access the pain of glass enough to pass a small squeegee over it, then you can use this product on your windows.

Question
Is this applied to the inside or outside of the window (or doesn't it matter)
We're on the 11th floor - if it has to go outside, that's a problem.

This product is designed to go on the inside of your windows. Wind or excess moisture as part of your Vancouver weather could loosen the energy film. It is easy to apply (and reapply) on the inside. Can be removed seasonally or anytime you wish to clean your windows, then easily reapplied. (I don't think it's designed for the outside, but your question is valid, as there isn't much info online about this product.) I highly recommend the product.
