This is a very capable Garage Door Opener with plenty of power @ 3/4 HPS. The unit can open a door as large as 16' w x 10'h.

As your door is 8' h, you will need an Rail Extension Kit model 8808CB.

answer 2
The Chamberlain Residential Garage Door Openers are capable of opening doors of heights between 7 to 10'. As purchased, the units are capable of 7' openings. Extension kits are available for doors up to 8' and another up to 10'.

For an 8' 1" opening an 8' extension kit should work.

If you will need your door to open 8' you will need to purchase an 8' extension kit. This is definitely enough horsepower for your garage door. If you need further assistance please feel free contact Technical Support Hotline at (800) 528-5880. I hope this helps.

To move the wall console you will need to unmount it first and depending on where you are moving it to you may need to disconnect the wires. If you do have to disconnect the wires make sure to reconnect them the same way. I hope this helps.

I can't say for certain but it would be a massive design flaw if it didn't. I would assume that like most things with rechargeable batteries as a back-up, it will still work as long as it's plugged in, regardless of the battery's state. My laptop battery hasn't worked in 3 years but I use it every day with the power cord.

While the operator will work fine with out a functional battery, if the AC power in your house goes out you won't be able to operate the door. Also, you will continue to hear the low battery beep until you replace the battery. Replacement batteries (model 4228) are available at most on-line retailers.

I found that the instructions gave very good directions on how to set the FULLY OPEN and FULLY CLOSED positions. If your door won't fully close, then I would check the two metal pieces that you bolted together to connect the door to the track, as this may be physically preventing the door from closing any more than what you are seeing. You may have to experiment a bit with the angle that you bolt them together at... Hope this helps.

No. As long as you have the opener UNPLUGGED while you attach the wires for the door entry sensors and the door wall switch to the opener.

Hi Anonymous! If you are connecting power to the garage door opener using the standard plug included with your Chamberlain model 459950D then there is no need to shut off power to the garage during installation. If you are providing direct power by wiring you garage door opener directly to a junction box then you will want to cut the power during this process. Instructions for both types of power connections are included with your opener to walk you through the steps needed.

Either hp will be able to open a properly balanced (working smoothly by hand) garage door. Our 3/4 hps Belt Drive units, are extremely quiet and also have a Battery Back Up option that will allow the door to open during power outages.
