Generally, in these instances if the hardener will allow our product to absorb into the surface then it will be fine to use. If the hardener is too slick then it will not allow our product to properly grab onto the surface. We would also suggest to refer to the instructions on the hardener regarding the painting of their product.

Question
How big an area will Behr epoxy acrylic paint cover?
Behr 1-Part epoxy acrylic concrete/garage floor paint (SKU# 110936) Behr Model#901.
My concrete shop floor (enclosed) covers about 600 sq ft. Will a single unit of this product be sufficient to cover this floor? If not, can it be applied in stages (i.e., 1/2 floor at a time)? Is that a problem for this product? How much product would be required to completely cover this size of floor? What maintenance is required once the product is applied and ready for traffic?

The epoxy should be applied at 400-500 square feet per gallon on smooth surfaces and 400-500 square feet per gallon on rough surfaces. When applied in stages a line may develop between the applications. Maintenance touch ups may be needed in the areas where the tires come in contact with tires.

Behr's Wet-Look Sealer and Low Lustre Sealer can be applied over the 1-Part Epoxy finish. These sealers are not necessary but can be used for cosmetic purposes.

Behr's 1-Part Epoxy may be applied on pool concrete patios and decks. Keep in mind that film forming products may become slippery when wet. Behr's Non-Skid Additive can be used with this product for added protection.
