Behr's 2-Part Epoxy is only recommended for interior concrete projects. This coating would not be recommended if your balcony is exposed to the weather elements.

Question
Preparing a painted garage floor for repainting with an Epoxy paint
I have a painted garage floor. However the existing paint does not adhere well to the floor. I would like to repaint the floor with Behr Premium 2-part Epoxy Garage Floor. What must I do to properly prepare the floor so the new Behr paint will be properly applied and adhere as intended? I want to do it properly to produce a great effect and floor finish. Thanks.

The existing paint needs to be removed. Depending upon the job itself this may be accomplished with a scraper, pressure washer, chemical means, or a combination thereof. After the existing paint is all removed then just follow the directions on the Premium 2-Part Epoxy Garage Floor Coating for preparation and application.

Question
Epoxy Finish Over Oiled Concrete
What preparation is required on an existing floor with oil staining on the floor? Oil has penetrated the concrete in a patch about 2ft x 2ft with occasional spots elsewhere? Is this the right product for the job? Is another product more appropriate?

Behr's 2-Part Epoxy will not adhere over oil/grease stains or over an existing oil base coating. To ensure adhesion remove severe oil and grease stains with BEHR No. 990 Concrete Cleaner & Degreaser, follow BEHR No. 990 with BEHR No. K-109924 Concrete Cleaner & Etcher (included in the kit). Allow the surface to dry before applying Behr's Premium 2-Part Epoxy.

Behr No. 95536 2-Part Epoxy can be applied over a pre-existing coating as long as the old coating does not have a sealer on it, isn’t an oil-based coating, and is not cracked or peeling. The surface should be wire brushed to create more surface area for the Epoxy to adhere to, and it should also be given ample time to cure before it should be driven on. Typically 7 days is enough time, but because it is applied over a pre-existing coating, you should park on corrugated cardboard for the first 30 days.

Question
Is this safe to use on a basement floor?
Children will be playing on it. Also the concrete has some patched areas.

Behr No. 95536 2-Part Epoxy Paint can be applied to a basement floor so long as there is no sign of hydrostatic pressure coming up through the concrete floor. The epoxy paint has a built-in non-skid element to the paint, which helps to prevent slips and falls. Make sure that the concrete patching compound has been allowed to cure before the epoxy is applied over, and also make sure that the entire surface is etched properly beforehand. The etching will neutralize any alkalinity in the patching compound, and allow the epoxy to bond to the concrete securely.

Behr 2-Part Epoxy can be applied to a previously coated surface so long as the previous coating is in sound condition. If there are no signs of peeling, then the surface should be wire brushed and wiped clean with a moist towel prior to applying the epoxy.
