Any Kidde smoke alarm that is hardwired and interconnected can trigger all other smoke alarms on the same interconnect wire. Just as, all Kidde CO alarms will trigger all other CO alarms on the same interconnect wire. A CO alarm will not trigger a smoke alarm on the same interconnect wire.

Hardwired interconnected smoke alarms should be installed on their own separate circuit. They must not be on a switched circuit where the power can be turned on and off like a light switch.

It is very important to read the manual specially the wiring section of the manual when installing this alarm. However to give you a quick advice on the wiring.

You need to ensure that 3 Wires are coming out of the ceiling. If there are only 2 (white and Black), then attach the White to White and Black to Black. As for the Red – Do NOTHING – Connecting the red to white or Black will cause the alarm extreme damage

Hope this helps.
