This unit when installing needs to be connected to the ground of a dishwasher, garbage disposal, or to an electrical outlet ground to provide proper grounding. Note: In order for the unit to work properly the valve must be properly grounded. The unit also requires the use of 4 C batteries. if this is installed in the centre of a double sink - is the faucet turnable to fill either sink or must you use the sprayer?

Yes, your cat can turn it on. We found this out giving our cat a bath in our kitchen sink with the touch faucet. This isnt a regular occurance, the cat was just trying frantically to get away and trying to hold onto the faucet spout. Other that that he doesnt go near it. It does seem to have an automatic shut though, at least the one we have shuts off after a few minutes of running water, maybe the creator thought of this?
