Question
Is the paint a clear base, or white-ish?
I want to paint a star grid on the ceiling of my son's room. The ceiling is blue sky (very light blue) and white clouds. Will the paint show on the light blue in the day? How visible is the paint in the daylight?

The Glow In the Dark paint itself dries to a white-ish yellow. It will be visible in the daylight, and on a pale blue surface, but the effect should be subtle until the lights are dimmed. Hope this helps.

The paint is a pale, transluscent green/yellow color that blends in well on a white wall surface, but will likely stand out on a black wall.

Unfortunately, most paints will eat through foam, and for this reason, Rust-Oleum's Glow in the Dark paint is not recommended for such a surface.

Question
Will this product still glow after applying a coat of clear varathane over top? Or does this product have to be "the last coat on"?

Yes, the glow in the dark paint will still glow if clearcoated. The important thing is that the paint be exposed to light once applied, so it can be "charged" before glowing in the dark.

If you paint over the Glow in the Dark paint, it will not "glow" through the new coat. The phosphorescent effect will be masked by the new coat of paint.

Because fabric is flexible, any paint applied to it will likely flake off, so the paint couldn't be counted on for long term sustainability. The Glow in the Dark paint is recommended for wood, metal, plaster, masonry, and unglazed ceramic.
